In November of 2004 Bruce Robertson was interviewed about hidden cameras and domestic surveillance on the Modern Marvels series in an episode entitled “Surveillance Tech”. In the third segment of the show Bruce Robertson was featured explaining the use of the “chip cam”, which is a tiny camera with a lens the size of a pin hole mounted on a small circuit board. This was followed by a spousal surveillance recreation using a “pager cam” at a shopping mall which was produced with the assistance of the Tristar staff.

Later on Robertson was interviewed explaining the use of night vision technology in surveillance. This also featured a cheating spouse surveillance recreation with Tristar Investigation operations manager Kellie Anguiano acting as the girlfriend of a cheating husband as Tristar staff demonstrated night vision video technology.

Toward the end of the third segment Bruce Robertson described potential problems associated with the use of cameras built into cell phones. Robertson pointed out that such devices cold be used in locker rooms and other potentially compromising situations.
