In November of 2004 Bruce Robertson was featured on the Modern Marvels series in an episode entitled “Surveillance Tech” which airs nationwide on the History Channel. The hour long show chronicled the history of surveillance and explored the current state of the art in spy technology. Robertson was featured in several segments of the hour long show, shown being interviewed both at the Tristar Investigation headquarters in Los Angeles and in various field recreations of surveillance technology.

In the first segment Robertson was featured in a demonstration of the use of a long distance parabolic microphone in a covert surveillance. Robertson and Tristar staff investigator Derek Weisberg. were shown using a the parabolic mike to listen in on two would be bad guys planning a crime.

In addition to appearing on the show, Robertson, who is also an award winning documentary film producer and director, worked with producer Rob Stone on many aspects of the show. Robertson was utilized as a location scout, field producer, technical consultant and fact checker. Robertson and Tristar received three acknowledgments in the closing credits.
