If you’re like most people, you may reflect on one or more of your romantic interests from the past. You may also think about contacting one; maybe out of curiosity or maybe even with the hope of rekindling an old flame. Here are a few things you can try to find an old love.
Contact Friends and Family
This is often the quickest way to find an old love. If you can remember a relative of theirs or a mutual friend, it may be quicker to find them first. This is especially true if there are several people you can look for. Even if several years have gone by, it is not uncommon for people to still live in the same city or even at the same residence that you remember. By contacting a third party, you may also get a feel for the best way to contact your lost love, if it is possible to contact them at all.
School Websites
This is also a good place to start a search for someone. Perhaps you went to school with your lost love. If not, you may remember where they went to school. Some high schools and many colleges have forums and ways to contact alumni such as posting on a message board.
Try Looking for Them on Social Media Sites
This may be the best place to search for someone. The trick is in knowing which site to look on, but if time permits it’s best to look at as many as possible. Naturally, Facebook is a great place to start. Although not everybody has a Facebook page, a large number of people do. There is a chance you may find the right name, but the wrong person, but don’t give up.
Use an Online Location Service
Everyone knows to use search engines to help locate someone, but they are limited in the information that is available on the average person. Try an online search service instead that looks at a few large data sources to find people for you. This comes at a price, and this type of service often disappoints people.
Using a Private Investigator
This is the most effective way to locate an individual, including a lost love. However, keep in mind that not everyone wants to be found and there are privacy laws that might inhibit you finding or contacting someone. Also keep in that the person you are looking for may be married, and their spouse may not want you intruding in their life. Even if the attempt at communication is innocent, the situation can become awkward.
