Bruce Robertson was interviewed on the MSNBC Nationwide Morning Blend show with Soledad Obrien in March of 1998. The piece was about Stephen Fagan, a Florida man who abducted his 2 and 5 year-old daughters from their mother in Massachusetts during a bitter divorce proceeding in the late 1970’s. Fagan changed his identity and successfully lived in hiding as a Palm Beach socialite and doting father, raising the two girls, who were told their mother was killed in an automobile crash. He avoided getting caught for nearly 20 years until police caught up with him in April of 1998.

Robertson explained way in which people can change their identity and successful live underground. He pointed out that one has to be willing to completely sever all ties to friends and family to successfully pull get away with changing identity.
